According to Bob Allen of ABC 13, the Texans are targeting Cardinals FA DE Antonio Smith 6'4 285. He is 27 and has 5 years experience. His career best in sacks is 5.5. New DC Bush coached him for 2 years in Arizona.

hmm.....not sure what to think about this. As big of a need as DE is for us right now do we really want a 5 yr guy who only reached 5.5 sacks in his career? All draft projections still show us in good shape to pick up one of the top 2 or 3 DEs.

hmm....I guess it's possible but I don't like it if it means another stop-gap DE, and that's all I see Smith being. IMO we can't afford to keep going that route, we're in a good spot to pick up either Orakpo or Brown if things fall our way.

i dont mind trading down....and yeah arizona needs wells..or moreno...but they can also wait and grab donald brown...and antonio smith is pretty good...dont let the stats fool you..he only became a starter this past season...but he aint really a speed person..he is just a big guy who tackles the ball carrier....arizona wasnt really a blitzing team though til the playoffs...where he got some good sacks..i kept up with arizona last year..cause i liked fitzgerald before the season..they like my #2 team...for fav...

that's good because we need a better run stopper/penetrator on the strong side...someone who can stand up against the run but still get down field. Bush will have our guys attacking gaps so even if he's not the answer he's definitely an upgrade over Weaver.

Yeah the thing is he doesnt need to be dominate. Just good enough to hold his own and help keep the doubles off Mario. Def. an upgrade I agree with that part. New look guy on a new look D! Cant wait!

he has been a decent pickup... except for the boneheaded penalties in the early part of the season.

I like the guy. He's got a good motor and he's vocal. Every time I see an interview I come away thinking he's a guy I'd like to hang with.
