Haven't heard how the 49ers winning would hurt the Texans but of course it didn't happen anyway. Titans Miami and Texans won this week shooting our percentage to make the playoffs at 45 %. Thats almost 50 / 50, Glad we stepped up the other team rooting this week. We did much better than last week. This weeks team to root for this week are.......... Texans(duh) Giants Broncos Bengals and Chiefs. if you want to look long term....we can really only lose 2 more to get into the playoffs with 98%chance. if we go 6-2 the rest of the way out. If we go 5-3 our chances drop to 70%. Can this team go 8 games and only lose 2? We have to beat the colts next week, thats for sure. No one has...and we never have in their house. So hypothetically speaking..we are most likely going to lose that game. That gives us only one more loss to have a reasonable chance (70%) to still get in the playoffs. Outlook might not ever look as good as it does this week fellas so lets celebrate this victory and our chances while we can! Yeah Yos but our chances of beating the Colts never looked as good as they do now either. I think we have a GREAT chance to beat the Colts next Sunday. The Colts are coming of a disappointing outing where they looked human and our guys are coming off of a decisive win. I'm sure the guys are feeling 10 ft tal and bulletproof right about now. IT seems like our defensive front seven is definitely up to the challenge so if the secondary can step up we will have our first win at Indy Sunday. Big game on the 8th fellas then a rest so come prepared to battle and leave it ALL on the field Sunday!!!

Things are looking a lot better and you can't go just by %. We can still lose three games if it is to the right teams. We must win one with Indy, beat Jax and sweep the Tacks. After that we have 2 NFC teams St Louis and Seattle. Those two aren't as important to win but I don't see us losing them anyway. So lets say we win all of our games only dropping one to Indy. That will probably put us in a position of having to beat Miami or New England in the final two. In effect we can only lose two to be in control of our destiny. However there are a lot of matchups that will favor us coming up. A lot of the AFC teams in the hunt play each other an/or tougher opponents. Some that shoould help us are Indy vs Baltimore, Vikes vs Cincy, and Philly vs San Diego. The more our rivals lose the more we can afford to lose. I still believe we will be able to make the playoffs with a 10-6 record as long as we beat the right teams. I think right now our biggest threat is if SD jumps Denver for the division leaving Denver with a better record than us. Same with the Jets and Pats which i don't see happening. Also the AFC North is a cluster. Hopefully Cincy, Pitts, and Baltimore will beat each other down leaving a clear division winner and two teams with a worse record than us. Of course the best way for us to go is to take our division. We are only 2 1/2 games behind the Colts. Anything is possible.

the Steelers winning the north is probably the most in our favor.

We absolutely HAVE to win all the games we're supposed to win in the second half of the season to get to the playoffs...we must split with Indy/Jax, sweep the Titans and beat Seattle, St. Louis, and Miami. Have one game of wiggle room for 10 wins and a good shot at the playoffs...it's gonna be interesting down the stretch!!! Gooooooooo Texans!!!!!!!!!!!
Here's how I see it shaping up:
@ind - W - 6-3 Ten - W - 7-3 Ind - L - 7-4 @jac - W- 8-4 Sea - W - 9-4 @stl - W - 10-4 @mia - W - 11-4 NE - L - 11-5
Thoughts...?

a little too zealous imo. I would love to win in Indy, but Indy's defense is better than its EVER been, they are probably a better team right now then when they won the super bowl. I am just hoping we can beat them at home later. The Miami game is going to be extremely tough as well, they have a good defense, and an excellent running game. They always play us down to the wire, so we'll see. After what happened to Owen, Im just worried about guys staying healthy at the end of the season. We cant afford to lose any more weapons.

I understand your concerns about Indy and how well they are playing but their run defense looked shaky Sunday and a team we beat hung with them and actually almost won...i think the Texans train is heading full steam into Indy and I have a great feeling about this game. To be honest with you I'm more concerned with Miami than Indy right now. At that stage in the season that gamw is a must win practically and they are always tough to play.

their rushing defense in that game is a little out of proportion though as they gave up a big 64 yard TD, after that they only allowed 49 yards rushing. Its not like we have a good rushing game anyway. You have to admit the SF secondary is a little better than ours as well. Im worried about Manning tearing them up as we havent gotten a push with our front 4 all season. No pressure on manning equals him ripping you a new asshole.

I agree with Hwood in that we are full steam ahead. We are going to have to make serious adjustments without OD but I think we have enough weapons to get it done especially if Moats keeps the train rolling. Goat is right though. Indy is tough despite the SF game. I have them at top three in the NFL without a doubt. We can't afford any mistakes against them. No turnovers period. We also have to keep Adai in the back field and apply pressure to Manning or he will shred us. I know our front four hasn't been getting the sacks but they do apply pressure. I think if we win the turnover battle, the game is ours for the taking. As for the rest of the teams on our schedule, I'm not making any predictions. Every team scares me until we have beaten them and that includes the Rams. I'm going to take Gotas advice and take it one game at a time. The Texans seem to do better when we don't put any expectations on them anyway.

Indy's defense is barely any better than the Texans (you can check the pro-football-reference.com site for the numbers).
In fact, the Texans force more turnovers per game than the Colts do on defense. IF the offense plays it's game, and avoids the turnovers I have all faith in THIS Texans defense to seal the deal.
You can ignore the 64 yard TD run by Gore, but does that mean we can ignore the big gains in week three the Texans gave up? The fact is, their defense is actually giving up more yards per game seemingly in a progressive manner.
Also, a small note, the Colts have soft spots in their passing defense. Most of their DBs are rookies, although now Bob Sanders is back. Hit them hard with the pass early. Let Andre Johnson show why he IS the best receiver in the NFL, and let K.Walt show why he's as good as Wes Welker as the number two.
Then hit them laterally. Wear out the defensive line of the Colts early on, and give yourself easier means of busting holes for the RBs.
Here's to a GREAT game on Sunday (even if I'm still sick, bleh!)

Bob Sanders was placed on IR yesterday. I'd never really celebrate the injury of a player, but does anyone have a victory beer?
