Division Leaders: San Diego Indy New England Cincinnati
Wildcard: Denver NY Jets
Baltimore Houston Pittsburgh Miami
First things first, eff the Colts. They actually found a 3rd way to eff us this year. They ruined what was nearly the perfect storm in things going our way last week. Ok well as slim as things are, we have a meaningful game in week 17 and still an outside shot at a wildcard for the first time ever. This last week is pretty simple. We need 2 out of 3 teams to lose. The bad thing is, the matchups are very unfavorable. We need the Broncos to lose at home to a bad Kansas City team. We need the Ravens to lose in Oakland. We need the Jets to lose at home to the Bengals. If the Bengals actually play their starters, I can see them beating the Jets. So lets pray they actually care if they are the 3 or 4 seed. Between the other two games the one with the highest probability imo is the Raider/Raven game. The Raiders have spoiled 3 good teams this year in the Eagles, Bengals, and Steelers all at home. Perhaps they can dish out a little magic and play for pride at home against the Ravens. Final wildcard pecking order would be like this:
Wildcard:
Denver 9-7 Houston 9-7
Pittsburgh 9-7 Baltimore 8-8 NY Jets 8-8 Jacksonville 8-8
So while its going to take some divine intervention, Im still very happy to be in the conversation in week 17 and be playing a meaningful game. While I will be disappointed not to make the playoffs, the first ever 9 win season would make me extremely happy on the flip side. So playoff race aside, lets cheer for a victory over the Patriots and a 9 win season.

Yeah, I was just looking at this and it just means that EVERY game from here on out is crucial! Fingers crossed!

Yeah, every game from here on out will be critical to our playoff chances. The important thing to me is that we would have to earn a spot now, unlike some teams that simply luck into one because of a weak division, or coast into one because of an easy schedule.
If we're going to be a playoff team it'll be because we fought our asses off to get there, and that's the most respectable way to do it........not that I wouldn't take one of the other two scenarios of course but at least we'll know what our team is made of if we do actually get there.

We're playing meaningful games right now, and we'll be playing them in weeks 16 and 17, too.
I LOVE IT! On the edge of your seat football!

I know, I love the fact that we're in it. Kind of weird.

just take each game and try to win... the pieces will fall where they may.

that's what I like about this MB, we're ahead of the trend... even the NFL doesn't start posting playoff scenarios before week 10. We beat them by 4 weeks.

Excellent evaluation.
Using Yos' list, the teams that I think will lose this week are the Fins, Steelers and Jills.
The ones I think could go either way is Cincy and maybe the Jets game. Sanchez has faltered in their last 3 so they may be on the downslide.
I think the Pats and Bolts will win thier games.
If we beat the Niners, we have a good chance of hurtling over a few teams this week. Then we can beat the Jills next week and keep on truckin.
I like our outlook. Lets just hope the Texans keep on bringing it.

It sucks we came out flat and had to be the guinea pig for the Jets week 1. That and the Jags could be the ass biters.

We can't afford a let down game against the Bills. If we can get the win then it makes our match up against the Colts even more important.

A lot of teams are in the hunt and its awesome to be in the thick of it.
Week 8 should be very interesting.
Texans need to Kill Bill.
Denver should beat the Ravens, so we should go ahead of them.
The rest of the games are just hopeful wishes. We need Miami to take care of the Jets, Oakland to beat the Chargers, oh yea, and we need the Tacks to beat the Jags. It would be nice if there are some upsets this upcoming week.

The tacks can beat the jags. Surely they wont go winless this season.

I don't know that Denver beating the Ravens is a given. The Ravens have only lost their 3 games by a total of 11 points, and those were to some very good teams. The Broncos are good but I wouldn't say they're much better than the Ravens.

Just win.
If we can somehow climb into the last spot in the playoff race, we're going to start getting love from the national bandwagon association.
Prime time spotlight focused right here on H town.
When the attention gets magnified, so do the little things. I'm hoping our team shines.
Go Texans.

When the attention gets magnified, so do the little things. I'm hoping our team shines. Go Texans. The concern for me is that this team seems to do the opposite at times. The past 2 seasons we were the flavor of the month pick to be a cinderella team and each time we come out flat and have to come back. Our team needs to ignore the media and just compete week in and week out! It seems like they read too many news reports and it gets into their heads or something.
